Wade’s Mill is the oldest, continuously operating commercial grist mill surviving in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  It is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. April Anderson is the owner-operators and does an amazing job of transforming you to an earlier, simpler time. When you witness the large water wheel operate and try their amazing products, you’ll feel transported in time. (tip: they also host a wonderful Fall Apple Butter Festival annually , in late October – for nearly 30 years!). April is also happy to take you on an impromptu tour of the Mill and is a wonderful ambassador for the area with her many contributions and roles. Stop by and purchase some of their Mill products (e.g. pancake mix, cornmeal, syrup, preserves, etc). (tip: Special note that, in-season, early April to 3rd week of December, April starts the large water wheel usually around 10 am on Saturday’s and Sunday’s).
