Above Ground Winery

Above Ground Winery is a very small family-owned, small batch, highly-rated vineyard, and is off-the-beaten-path – it boasts excellent quality wines and is located near Middlebrook, Virginia in an old area called McKinley (a quaint historic former village). The owners are very hospitable and typically offer free tastings. The drive to and from the Vineyard is very scenic (follow 252 North for most of the trip). Matt and Mary Beth Barbagallo are the owners and Matt is very knowledgeable about his wines down to micro-points on tasting notes. (tip: try the Abracadabra!).
